Day 371 (Apr 30) - lost a whole bedding set??

Day 371 found the girls up and off to school in fog off and on and me waiting for the Lambert trucker to arrive and move the storage trailer. What a landscape change it was.

 before shot

thanks Dwayne and Candace, your guy was fast efficient and friendly!
and here is is now and below the house after.. wow different

As I was unpacking I found this camera to go up on the upper vignette and low and behold one of my blogs I follow had put the exact same one up for sale. This is my favorite camera I have I think.
Right after the driver left the fog rolled back in. And soon it was gone again.
I spent the day just going thru boxes at the door and sorting and setting up things. It was very productive. I even opted out of going to town to celebrate coffee, treats and pizza for a co-worker!
the antique amoire being set up. After finally going thru all boxes and keeping the storage trailer set up with ones to store I could not find an entire set of bedding and pillows. It is my favorite queen bedding ever and I was so excited to set it up in the spare room.. dang it! where could it have went astray??

I cooked up a delicious roast with gravy and mashed potatoes for supper. Sadly I broke the handle on my favorite and well used pottery jug :-( Today was just odd, as we have so much stuff but it is the favorites that seem to break or get lost. I am going to try and glue it.
Shaina missed as she was working till 9 and stayed in till 11! After supper Sheldon watched a hockey game while I bustled around and then hit the furnace room. He followed down after game 1 and listened to game 2 while installing the closet organizer in Kaylin's room.

 assembling another shelving unit

there is a perfect spot of wasted space by the watr tank but not for long, all my Christmas containers fit, how perfect, one stop for all

OK not really I found 2 more tubs and my huge box of Sugar Town not including all the wrap and gift bags and gifts in the spare room..yes I have bought too many Christmas decorations and gifts I forgot about. :-)

so here was end of night progress.. YEAH!!
After a well earned shower it was bed time but I could not sleep so read, At 12:30 the rain started and was still going at 1:45 when I turned off light but sure enough it rained all night long

Day 370 - trailer much less

Day 370 was another fairly late start. I was up around 9:30 dreading the piles of boxes in the doorway even dreaming of all the excess we are blessed with. Sheldon made a breakfast of heated sausage and eggs to get us going. By now, Kaylin and Aaron would be sitting on the beach enjoying a corona while Shaina was off to Naksika to board the last time before they closed tomorrow.

We continued to sort and unload the trailer as well as find homes for what was in the front entry too. Sheldon organized the garage a bit as well. Mid morning Shandi, Josh and kids stopped to say goodby to Diego, they are moving back to northern BC. They brought along their new elk hound puppy which the dogs and Britt liked immensely.

In the afternoon Matt brought the skid steer back home so he could roll out a bale for the horses, scrape under the trailer and move the round pen panels at the front of the storage trailer for tomorrow's big move. Matt invited us for a barbeque and the state we were in jumped at the offer.

seems we found a wee leak so up goes the repair man to silicone the edge.. however it does not work  when the rains come :-(

In the afternoon a friend stopped to grab a book light but said she could not see the big rock lime bale, sure enough it seems we were robbed of the bale cover. And of course they damaged the wrap climbing up to undo.. grrr people!
look at how empty the storage trailer is now :-)

just before 6, Sheldon drove the skid steer and I followed back to Matt and Marissa's. We enjoyed a super delicious steak supper with them and her parents. They had also gotten a new addition to the family, little Boxer, Primo. Britt stayed home and cooked ichiban! Shaina arrived home I think just before us at 9 ish?

Day 369 - unpacking trailer

Day 369 was a nice sleep in day, none of us rousted till 10:45. It was then time to tackle the storage trailer as we need to get it moved to progress to tree planting and assembling the planter boxes. Britt painted a full length mirror.
The afternoon the sun came out so I planted the gate planters with my assistants.
 before
after - morning glory and four o clocks, we then weeded the baby trees and checked the older ones
 my assistants hard at work
back at the ranch Sheldon continued to set up the garage
and I replanted some of my hens and chicks since "someone" backed over the planter at top of photo..SLK
The girls went to clean the highway trees and brought back this trailer load and out again and got these bag fulls
Emily and Michelle stopped out to borrow a jacket of Shaina for school interview. Kaylin came out and her and I did pedicures for her trip tomorrow. We all enjoyed a great sausage supper then the two younger girls rode. Sheldon and I continued on with the trailer hauling in more boxes. We threw in the towel and got a hot bean bag for my knee at 11.
Shaina headed in later to stay the night at Kaylins and drive them to the airport at 3 am.

Day 368 - rain but more wind :-(

Day 368 was a rainy start but turned to wind for most of the day :-( Shaina drove Britt to school even having a spare first period. I bet she went to Tims then :-) Grama, Papa and I had a lazy start enjoying coffee/tea and watching Canadian Pickers. I then got showered and worked on the spare room while they read papers and played some pool.

before the closet and seen below the after
I also gave Diego his 2nd shot which he never even noticed.

At noon they went in to meet Kaylin for lunch before heading home. I continued to sort. Sheldon arrived at 1:50  before we went to town to meet the bus that would take us to the Craft beer pub to celebrate a farewell of a co-worker. it was a very fun and entertaining party followed by a fire at another co-workers.

Shaina went to the city with friends to the Ranchmans and stayed overnight. At 11 we picked up Britt from Brooke's as well as Caleb and Hannah and gave all rides home.

Day 367 or day 1 of year 2

Today is day 367 which including the leap year day has us back to one year has passed since we put in the first stake.

I dropped Britt off at school and was off to work. Shaina was to walk the dog but pretty sure she did not. The weather was dreary and cool but still no forecasted rain. Martin took the ladies at work out for Administrative week lunch at the golf course which was very nice. I headed home at around 2:30 just in time for the rain to start but it seems it was only in town. At the ranch it had drizzled.

However it did come down every now and then thru the rest of the day and night. I simmered up some hamburger soup for Papa and Grama's arrival to celebrate Britt's birthday. Wendy the landscape gal came for a meeting at 5 and took about an hour fine tuning tree selections etc. Grama and Papa arrived just after 6. It was a perfect day for hot soup. Amanda and Asher joined us for a visit and ice cream cake just after 7 and stayed till 10. Shaina worked after school till 9 then stopped at Tims before hearing there was cake and Asher at home. Hockey dominated the TV time and beverages were had by all to celebrate Britt's big day!

Day 366 - Britt turns 15!!

Day 366 is Brittany's 15th birthday and has been one year since we pounded in the first stake. WOW! The morning was very foggy. Shaina headed off to school and the birthday girl got to take her time as today was badminton tournament. At quarter to none off we headed picking up Hannah then Brooke. I dropped the girls at the Catholic school for the day and grabbed teas and headed to work.
my pretty flowers opening up

At noon I popped over to DQ to grab the birthday cake and lunch and a blizzard for Britt. I delivered it to the school and journeyed home. At the ranch I heated the bean bag up and put on my knee which is still causing grief. I even managed to doze off for a bit. I tidied, laundry and updated the blog before Shaina brought Britt home from school.

We then packed up stuff to head into polox practice after Sheldon got home from work, stopping first at an esthetichian to get Britt's long awaited nose piercing. She claimed this was the best part of the day!
Karen is the piercing gal marking placement
 and piercing
 and quick spray
and done.. note eye watering happens to all, not to do with pain. She said she could not even feel it!

we arrived at practice just after 6 only to find mosquitoes the size of birds, look at them on Diego's face
Britt enjoying her birthday with her loves.. pets and family!
Practice wrapped up about 7:45 and it was a quick beverage and visit then off to Subway to finally eat. Birthday girl packed away a full 12 inch sub and was still hungry! We stopped quick at Chinook mall for Shaina to see about phone repair but had no luck. It was a drive home, release the beasts and hit the sheets.
