Day 128 - rain as promised

Day 128 was full rain as promised, thru the night and into this new day. this "back to school" day!
Shaina - entering grade 12, last year of high school

Britt - entering grade 9, last year of junior high

Where has the time gone? Would have asked Kaylin to pop over for a photo but her early work day was cancelling due to rain as she was beer cart girl.

this was captured on the way to the ranch since both girls were not ready at the same time this am, Britt actually left early!
I worked the am and then came home to pack and that i did.

by 3 there was 7/10ths of rain which we do need. Sheldon had to meet at rental to inspect for the damage deposit return which all passed so we have our new hacienda ready to move into now. After supper we headed out.
At the ranch, we found the basement was finished getting dry walled. along with tons of puddles water and tire tracks in the mud, the girls fed the ponies a teat of beet pulp and ground carrots! (thanks Ray)

Shaina seeing her room first time in ten days or so

Brittany checking out her new room.. yes she has officially (only as of today) claimed this as her new room thanks to Shelby's visit yesterday and my vetoing her paint choice if she was upstairs.
now to head upstairs and see what is new there

here we are setting up our furniture to see where I want the living room floor outlet, the pails are leather chairs and the lawn chairs are our loveseat, can you envision? But finally to Matt and Sheldon's amazement I chose the spot

to the left is all I can see thru the garage peep hole of our cabinets, can you believe there were two keys , we brought one and it was not the garage key? Day 2 of what lies behind the mystery doors.

then we trudged off thru the mud to remove Julio's stitches.
(with our exacto knife to be exact!)
nurse Baby has to inspect everything we do.
then it was back to town where some blogged, some showered, some worked out and some sorted thru grain receipts :-) they say the sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar! Let's see.

Day 127 - dreary dark day

Day 127 was dreary and cool. Enerspray finally had a cool day (think that is why they cancelled, that attic would have been 50 yesterday) to spray first layer in attic

and then they sound proofed the media room

Dustin the cabinet expert started stuff but we forgot key to see what it was he did :-)
The garage side lift openers were put on in the afternoon but again no photos due to being locked out.
Blair and stucco prepped windows but could not do much else, if tomorrow is full rain as forecasted they are delayed yet again... the rain started about 4 pm and goes thru the night
Matt powered up garage panel for Dustin to power cabinet tools and put in my office floor plug box.
Sheldon and I went out in the evening, hence the poor quality of photos since raining and dark, sorry. when we first got out we saw this.. opps guess you have to put the safety on the hydraulic down or it will lift itself.. :-)

we met Matt and went to neighbors to see his garage lights so we could order them. then it was back to ranch to inspect those rafters which passed with flying colors.

the arch mudded in as well as other main mud but too dark to show

this is the rain coming down as we are leaving, dark and pouring. Come back summer, don't leave us, I like light out at ten pm!!
Back in town i packed up more boxes and was making puffed wheat squares at midnight for back to school tomorrow while waiting for time to pass to pickup Shaina form the airport who does not land until 12:30am. Kaylin, being the kind sister, and after we offered her the truck to take :-), went in to pick her up and return her to the house at 2 am exactly! Thanks Kaylin and Aaron, who accompanied her even when it was his 23rd birthday!! We are all glad to have her home .. we need more movers!! :-0)

Day 126 - yet another 30 degree fencing day and many other progressions

Day 126 was back to work for me, Sheldon took a vacation day and was off at 8:30 to UFA to exchange posts and get plywood for tub surround
pickup bale cash from Lorne then meet painter #2 Jeff for quote coming in at 2.40/sq
next he met Rod Stead, the drywall guy to discuss edges and progress.

Dwayne sent one of "his guys" to help us move the storage trailer to a spot near the house for ease of moving in in possible snow

Ed the dry waller was working on the main floor

Dustin set up camp in the garage to build cabinets, put on deadbolts to discourage thieves and plans to get busy tomorrow.

However his delivery guy made a boo boo.. or 3 on our garage floor
Enerspray were to come do the rafters but they cancelled last minute.
After lunch, Britt and I headed out with him after loading the dump trailer with more boxes and transferring to the storage trailer. Wait, she did not do the unload but rather the I'm going to meet Shelby on my horse even though any other day the 30 degrees would have made her say it was too hot to ride :-)
Off then to finish leveling the area to put in last posts. Whew, hot dry and dusty and not without a few glitches

Shelby kidnapping Britt after their ride - of not so much conditioning but rather walking and gabbing
the hoses were buggers to get on but finally it fit
then I hooked up the auger and set off

then I was demoted to laborer again
Sheldon trying to find rocks to balance them in the holes
looking not bad but need to fill around
now waiting for concrete mix and the rain to pour in and set them in this unstable area
then we dug up the broke post and reset in a new pole and screwed on the rails but by now it was 6 and we were both parched so back to the house to unhook trailer, unload truck, grab a beer and show Stouts the progress since they have been on vacation for two weeks. They also brought Britt back after her kidnapping.
Back in town we had a quick supper and showers. I did accounting and blogging while Sheldon did a bit of window care then he and Britt watched a movie until friends came to the door to take her for a walk.
they still say rain tomorrow, we can use it that is for sure but it will mean our stucco color will not be put on :-(
