Day 219, awoke to a blizzard, Britt and Shaina drove slowly to school. I headed in only to find the roads sheer crap. below is the highway as I drove in! (don't worry Terri, I was going slow :-))
Being a bit rushed Britt had no lunch so I picked her and a friend up and dropped them at Tims for lunch while ran to town house to grab more stuff. Ran them back to school and back to town house to do accounting. I loaded up the Buick and went to get groceries so we had lunch food and fridge food. YAY! Verdatech did the house energy efficiency testing and said we were the best rated house he had tested this last few months
I picked Britt up after school and it was off "home" to unload with first priority being building a fire which we have had every day there. I threw in a roast for supper. The evening was cleaning, un packing and doing laundry while watching "Harry Potter" final movie.
this is the fancy "schluter" crack filler I suggested so nothing gets behind the stovetop, hope it works.
the recycling is piling high behind the Buick each day
this is my new life with hard wood.. puppy prints every time they go out :-(
Sheldon worked on Shaina's closet organizer since she was planning to actually sort her clothes after she gets home from work.
and once home she got after it.. the closet anyway
Britt tucked in her bed reading till late every night!

Day 218 - still no heat or plumbing done :-(
Day 218 - was our first head to school and work from the ranch. Above was the sunrise. Britt and I made it in great time. Greg the painter was out touching up paint on baseboards at the ranch and Rick stopped by, not doing much! LOL
At noon I grabbed a quick burger and then took the EnCana food bank donations to them, dropped library book off and paid bills around town. Next was to the town house to pack, do accounting and organize. Not sleeping the night before blessed me with a head ache which plagued me until bedtime but I knew I would sleep well that night. Finally the girls got here about 4:15 and loaded up more of their stuff. With a full Buick at 4:45 we headed south only to pass Sheldon on his way to town with the truck and trailer.
He loaded stuff up from the town house and got some groceries and back to ranch at around 7:30pm. Shannon was kind enough to stop and get the girls to take them to 4-H adopt a family shopping in town and Krista gave Britt a ride home after. Shaina stayed in town to work out with her sister and finally made it home by 9
Me cooking late supper on new stove.. cooks like a dream
My evening was spent unpacking boxes and making it tidy only to be foiled by Sheldon's load he brought all in! UGH But by 10 I had to have a bath in the new tub.. fabulous it was!!
I put this shower stand together but needs a bit of adjusting
And by 10:30 I was in bed. Sheldon worked on trying to hook the fan coil up to heating system since the plumber who was out during the day only hooked one set of taps up, stuck in 3 others and that was his days work!! However I don't think S was successful as it was still 18 the next morning.
Status of Shaina's room.. this child needs to stay home and organize! :-)

Day 217 - Slept in the house!!
Day 217 was back to work Monday for me but Sheldon took it off. He was out at the ranch with a load of stuff by 9. The carpet fellows soon arrived to to finish the carpet!
I asked him the next day for a list of things he did since the computer is in town and since we are out there it is hard to get to. Here is his reply :-)
Kaylin unloaded into cupboards
the broken patio table
setting up the ramp to the storage trailer
Kaylin moving boxes in
the roaring fire
both moving in furniture
the girls resting.. of course
and she vacuumed
ramp to boxes
the whole basement she vacuumed too
then had the urge to be a gargoyle!!
We all removed the preserve window film after the Gienow guy came at 3:30 and installed screens and handles. Andy the soffit guy stopped out to check the damage and get stuff ordered to repair it
Kaylin found dog sitting drawers
the evening sun setting just before we headed to town to drop Kaylin back home and head to town house to load more stuff
Asher getting and giving kisses to Coco
Then it was social time around the fire where Asher fell asleep in my arms. They headed back to town at 11:30. We assembled our bed by midnight but neither of us could sleep. Must have been the stillness of the night sounds cause Lord knows we were tired. But very successful day and sleeping in the new house was a treat.

- brought a load of items from rental in horse trailer to house and hauled in
- soffit outlets installed and in service. More plates as well.
- Feeders set up and bales in them ready to go.
- Gathered H2O troughs and brought to house.
- Started fireplace, gathered some wood
- Unloaded things from trailer with you and Kaylin
- Went back to town and returned with 1 load, help from Craig
- Back to town and returned with 2nd load, help from Craig
- Drank some beers and went to sleep
At noon Kaylin walked to my work and her and I grabbed Subway for lunch and headed to the ranch. We got the fire going and kept it roaring the whole day since we still have not main floor heat.

Craig and Amanda came at 7 ish to help load and move.
Back at the ranch the boys unloaded trailer and inside I unloaded boxes and did laundry in my new set for the first time!. The boys made a 2nd run to town unloading it too.

Day 216 - Galeforce Winds!!!!
Day 216 was unreal for wind. Plus 16 but so windy. Blew our glass table of the deck busting 2 legs, a few shingles and 10 feet fascia, the large water tubs blown over fences and all the tubs scattered everywhere through the fields but we got lucky, downtown Calgary was shut down due to large glass windows blowing out. We just got home here are 7:00 from supper and passed a 40 foot evergreen a couple blocks down blown right over roots and all across the street.
I snapped these shots the next day, here is the one tree
and right across the street is another with the top snapped off
At the ranch today we continued to clean and unload boxes. I got up at 9 with Britt and Sheldon getting up later. A good breakfast of bacon and fried potatoes (S also had a big bowl of cereal) and it was time to load the horse trailer. Gas, Tims and a stop at work to print a copy of Britt's project delayed the arrival at the ranch until 11. Mom came out soon after having done her shopping for Travis.
the almost clean island to start the day
Sheldon worked on the back closet while Mom washed the entire laundry room top to bottom allowing me to unpack items to store in there
Britt worked on unloading all her clothes and setting up her dream closet
I unpacked food in the pantry too
and in my bathroom cabinets
lovely.. so exciting to have it near yet closed
Mom cleaning the main bathroom, this woman is a work horse even with a bum knee
Sheldon at our late lunch break (2:30) with eyes full of dirt from going outside and mayonnaise on his face.. LOL
Britt washing the basement window casings
the finished closet
the slate from yesterday
Mom hand washing the back entry tile
and making the office doors sparkle
Britt cleaning the railing
Sheldon checking the stair light programmer after he and I built another shelving unit for the media/audio components
this is after 2 days of vacuflo use.. holy cow heh?
I gave the slate a 2nd coat, looks lovely I must say
then I cleaned the entry light, making it all pretty. Mom and I scrubbed the front door glass too
After all her hard work, at 6 we took Mom for supper at The Station, THANKS SO MUCH MOM!!!! We could not have done so much without all your help. At seven it was back to the town house to load the trailer again. Aaron,Kaylin & Shaina came over to help to. At 8, Aaron, Sheldon and I headed back to the ranch with the load. Destruction was everywhere from the winds, the KCF bucket and sign was smashed and stuck up against the chain link school fence, DQ lost part of their glass sign, other signs tripped over and trees everywhere crashed onto the ground.Wind was recorded at 149 KM/HR at the top of the Bow in Calgary and they say higher in out lying areas.. explains lots of damage.
At the ranch we quickly unloaded and started back to town only to find Shaina and Kaylin coming down the lane. So we jumped out and walked back to the house to help them unload. I unpacked boxes while Dude worked on her room and the others visited and enjoyed a few cold beer (after A&S moved the extra stairs to back wall)
the recycling pile grows daily!
SNOW! what strange weather
9:30 back to town in snow if you can believe it.. and still plus 4!! Time for a shower and paralyzers, I blogged and packed more boxes ready for Sheldon to take out tomorrow morning. He has taken the day off as we have 8 trades coming to finish up and he has many outside jobs that can be done in this balmy weather.
