Day 208 - minus 24 degrees this am when Sheldon dropped Britt at work just before 8 am!! and that is not counting the wind chill!! Good Grief! Of course, he made his usual but soon to no longer happen routine of picking up a hot chai and delivering to me in bed! :-) I enjoyed it immensely lounging in the warm covers reading my new House and Home magazine then moving on to a natural barefoot horse trimming book called Triminology 101. Sheldon had a nap on the couch then in the bed :-) At 9:30 I got up and got ready for the day waking prince charming at 10:15 to head out.
We made a quick stop at Canadian Tire looking for fridge water line connection then Home Hardware and finally PJ's Appliance having no luck at any. It was then on to the ranch
the beginning of our days work, the washer and dryer install, here I washed the floor in preparation
and wiped the cabinets.. can I say get lost building dust!! holy crumb, it is everywhere and settles back in minutes Here is before and after
thank goodness Tony stepped in to get my end of the washer to bring in from garage :-)
and thru the doors
washer in, preparing the dryer vent only to find we had purchased wrong dryer vent :-( so it was back to town, needing to pick up Britt from work anyway just after 1. during lunch Sheldon ran a few errands to get correct dryer vent, more spray foam for tub and Brooke to come see the house.
we arrived back out there at about 2:30 and it was back to attaching the dryer legs to the pedestal and put on the edges.
in the ensuite, Sheldon filled under the tub with spray foam for more stabilization and then screwed up the trap door, Tony had the tile all down for the floor too
Rod cutting more shower tile
after hooking up the dryer vent I am released
and climb up and out, after we pushed it in we peeked and saw the fancy $30 vent was split wide open!! Crap, back out it comes with plan B going into action
which requires me to fit behind the washer and re-connect the vent now cut in half
and although this is not a photo I would normally post, this does show the close cramped quarters I was confined to, finally getting it connected with the help of Sheldon shining a flash light in for viewing
I was able to get out once again, this time a different route
here they are finally in place, not the 45 minutes the appliance place quotes it takes to do it but rather a full day ! LOL
another view
Dustin stopped out with his idea for back splash tile however it is a bit to grey green brown for me and the rest of the inspectors
here they are with top two contenders, after talking with both my tile guys we are going to find dark tumbled travertine ( like on right)
the shower completely tiled, just grouting to be done next week
my island stools arrived, testing them out here, what do you think?
the entire afternoon the girls ran around checking horses and house and finally got started on cleaning the chandelier
look at cleaned ones on the right, wow!! OK don't look at B's shoddy nails :-)
Sheldon worked on trying to hook power to fan coil with no luck, here he checks the breakers for an issue. I swept and cleaned and washed windows and counters etc. at 6:15 we headed to town dropping Brooke at home and back to town house to cook up sausage supper. Good news, the temperature was only -16 on way back to town! :-)
By 8 Sheldon was asleep on the couch, last few days have taken their toll. Britt continued to clean her dismantled crystals all night long. I blogged, had a relaxing hot bath and cruised the internet and did accounting for a bit. Great end to a very busy day!
