Day 101 - tragedy

 Day 101 started like any day, Both Sheldon and myself headed off to work. Before work Heather stopped by to pick up the Michael and Sasha who stayed the night. After lunch I came home and started packing boxes in the kitchen.

Kaylin went for a walk with Amanda and Asher and Shaina went to work at 4. During the day, the framer, HVAC, plumber and stucco guys worked.

After Sheldon got home form work we had a quick bite to eat and gathered things to head out and work on the garage floor and meet with the cabinet guy. As soon as we pulled up to the horse pen to drop off post, i knew something was wrong. Bandit and Twix were laying down with Julio standing sentinel guard. I could see Bandit breathing but not Twix. During the very intense thunderstorm the night before, he was struck by lightening. This was devastating to the entire family. Plans quickly changed to preparing a burial spot for him on the ranch. Sheldon work Gertie and made a great resting place. At 6:30 Dustin showed up for our meeting. It was all we could do to get thru it but we managed. he has a great plan and we have no worries on it. After he headed out Shaina arrived after finding cover for her work. We had a burial and covered the area with the large rocks we have at the ranch. One we will get lasered his name for the patio floor. He was a fantastic horse with so much potential, he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
