Day 233 - We finally get INTERNET!!

Day 233 was much warmer to -2. Over lunch I ran to pickup farm fresh eggs I found online, dog food and another Christmas present! So very excited about that. Planning to spend all Friday doing the rest.

At work I had to leave a course early to meet the Efirehose guys at 3 to set up our internet!!!!!! OH HAPPY DAY! however after it taking an hour and half and finally getting it up, I found it was a one port option, router for wireless is our responsibility!! Good grief!! I threw on ribs for supper and they proceeded to boil over, ran down the back of the stove and out the front pooling on the hardwood. The lovely large wood we got will only burn after 100 kindling sticks and 2X4's get it going. It was a beer necessary afternoon :-)

While they sat internet up, I arranged the already out of sorts pantry.

Sheldon arrived home in time to get the low down on the internet set up as it is ran across the yard to a temporary pole later to be installed on the yard light. This will require spring so for now it will be flagged and hope no ones drives over the cable. A lady came and collected about 50 of my unpacked boxes which made a huge improvement in the garage. I had taken in a car full for her this AM too. Britt went to Hannah's on the bus and Shaina cleaned the town house after school then went to work from 5-9:30.

After supper, Sheldon headed to town to do last minutes touches on town house then meet new tenants at 7 to do walk thru and give key. I sat down and got busy catching up on couple weeks worth of accounting and sent out email changes.

Day 232 - chilly day, brrrr

Day 232, cold chilly -10 day. Kind of a ground hog day of drive B to school, go to work and then home to unpack boxes, and make supper! After work, Matt stopped by to install septic alarm but needed info from Rick the plumber so had to leave it till he calls him back :-( Shaina worked again after school till 9.

Kaylin requested sausage so being near the end of the supply I obliged and her and Aaron came out for supper at 7. Sheldon shampooed the rugs at the town house right after work and dropped the machine with Amanda and Craig to clean their rugs. Once home he had Bell talk him thru hookup of the satellite for the kitchen TV, YAY!!

Late supper was delicious and enjoyed by all. Britt and Kaylin watched some TV while Aaron and Sheldon chewed the fat as I did dishes. Fairly uneventful day.

Day 231 - Fog rolls in, car comes out

Day 231 - regular day of school and work with me driving both girls to school due to no car for Shaina. I spent my noon hour updating the blog then after work met Shaina at the town house to let her in to clean. I also picked up the microwave and few other left stuff. Then off home where I stopped to get a snap of the Mercury.

Very lucky girl, steep ditch, icy busy road and the "boat" just spun around and sailed safely down not hitting a fence either.

This was sunset but soon after the fog rolled in heavy.

Sheldon met the tow truck there around six and they managed to get it out. Thanks to Auntie and AMA too. we ran Shaina her car to work but since so foggy and icy she asked us to stay and drive her home so we grabbed a chai tea and went Christmas light touring. Picking her up at 9:20 pm and made the slow trek back home.

Day 230 - snow day! ends up ditch day

Day 230 was a snow day! big fluffy no wind minus 2 perfect ski snow day. Sheldon took Britt to work at 7:45 and scurried back home to bed right away. The kids and I were awakened @ 9 by horses in the windows! and pulling wood out of the neatly stacked pile! what a curious crew

breakfast and tea, tidy and visit were morning events for all but Sheldon who had to go fix fence around the bales since horses were into that.  He loved the weather and quad riding around but enjoyed coming in for a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup I made for lunch. Shaina took off to town to pick up Kaylin and they went to Calgary Xmas shopping for the day. At 1 pm Dale and kids loaded up and headed home after stopping for a haircut at Amanda's.

Sheldon and I snuck in a wee nap by the fire. At quarter to 2 he ran to town to get Britt and groceries while I unpacked yet more boxes of towels and sheets and cleaned, vacuuming the entire main level. They arrived home at 2:45 and Britt vacuumed the lower level while Sheldon worked on the skidoo and got a new bale for the horses.

Roast Supper and all the fixings was ready for 6 but the girls had not arrived yet. At 6:15 I got a call that Shaina had hit the ditch. The roads were getting worse thru the day and it seems she may have been going a bit faster than her non winter touring tires can handle. She had been complaining of them since the first snow and gets stuck at red lights in town and school parking lots requiring pushing by friends :-) She does not however want to part with $$ for tires even after her Dad offered a payment plan. Luckily Kaylin and Aaron were close behind so they picked her up since the car was buried deep in the ditch and the snow was still coming down.

We had an delicious supper, the girls set up the tree taking one more thing off my to do list. At 9, Kaylin and Aaron went home and the rest of us relaxed and watched TV and played wii.

Day 229 - unloading and unpacking day

Day 229 was a gorgeous day. Ended up a no jacket type day for December, like plus 10 in the city. I was up at 8:30 with Vance and Mya, Sheldon and Dale got up later. At 10:30 Stacie stopped on way to city to shop and go to a Xmas party. Dale headed in to and they did all their shopping!

My had a nap from 11:30 - 4pm!! We unloaded tons from the storage trailer taking a few cold refreshment breaks.

At 4 Dale was back. I continued to unpack boxes. As we were unloading another batch after a beer break Britt was called saying she worked at 4 not 6 as she thought so Dale ran her to work. Shaina spent the day giving Lynda riding lessons and cleaning the rental house. She then got dressed for a staff party at the Station for Warehouse One. She picked Britt up from work at 9 and took her to Kaylin's to get on internet since we are still internet-less and they both came home at midnight.

Just after 6 Amanda, Craig and Asher came out for an evening of fun initiated by their housewarming gift of Captain Morgan Private Stock. (It has a cork even!) Thanks goodness the neighbors had some ice cubes to share.

Day 228 - flex friday and spa day

Day 228 was a flex Friday for the girls from school so Shaina had stayed at Emily's after the winter formal. Britt and Amber were up at 11 after I suggested they go clean Jessie's foot. I was up at 8:30 and played a few games of Skip-Bo on my phone before cleaning out the fireplace and setting it up for a fire later in the day.

I unpacked many kitchen boxes and set up the computer. Amber's mom dropped off more clothes since she was staying to go to hitmen game with the crew. The girls rode the quad a bit and then got working on the projects. At 1:30 I stopped at my work before heading to Bangles for my "spa day" massage and facial.

Of course it went longer than planned so I had to rush some Tim's to Shaina at 5 who was working from 2-9 today and had not debit card. It was then to the ranch where Sheldon, Britt, Amber, Dale and Vance (they arrived at 4:30) were ready to head to the game by 5:30.

Mya and I made kraft dinner for supper, gave her a bath and washed a load of clothes since the poor little girl was car sick on the way here. I sealed the grout in ensuite and the granite in half bath with her supervision.

Ron dropped off a cord of wood around 7 and hand bombed it neatly under the stairs. Talk about service, great  horse deal trade for bales.

Shaina was home just after 9 so her, Mya and I watched Harry Potter in my bed.

The boys got home just before 11! Vance was number one Hitman fan who won in a shoot out in the end.

Day 227 - winter formal

Day 227 was COLD, -17 when I drove to work. Britt was up early again to take bus and Shaina later due to spare tues/thurs mornings. Tonight is winter formal, big exciting night for high school kids.

Since the ladies at work had errands, I spent my lunch hour putting together the party bags and delivering them. Kinda got me in the Christmas spirit! May get that tree up after all.

After work I headed home while Sheldon had an ex ray then a massage! lucky him :-)  Britt had Amber for a sleepover planning to work on 2 school projects tomorrow.

Evening was more hauling in sfurniture and boxes from storage trailer in order to find bedding for our weekend guests, unboxing and organizing. Sheldon put in the stair lights after supper.
