Day 226- Shaina works on finding her floor

Day 226 found Britt up early riding the bus with Shelby after planning last night to do that. Wow, the bus picks her up at 7:35 AM. Shaina drove to school alone (and staying for work after school) and I to work.

At lunch, Sharon, Coreena and I went shopping for the Kids Xmas party bags grabbing lunch at Tims.

After work I headed home, Britt had Hannah come home with her off the bus. Today was not as cold as forecast, yay!

I lit a fire and continued to unbox and organize the house. Yes this is going to be a long process especially when plans are to set up Christmas opening even more boxes :-) I cooked up supper and served it once Shaina was home from work at 6:45, Hannah stayed as our guest. Her Mom came around 8 for a tour and visit. Sheldon headed to town to get the large TV stand having Craig pop over to help him load and anything left in the garage. He was home by 9 as Rhonda and Hannah were leaving, and loaded more firewood up to the house.

Shaina was flogged to tidy her room with threat of not attending winter formal tomorrow if not done. She managed to get some done. Then her and Sheldon moved in a few items from the storage trailer, one her VERY large toy box.

Day 225 - first guests drop by

Day 225 was a plus 10 degree day. So odd the weather we have now, they predict tomorrow should be -15! Awake early as Coco decided to purge more of her garbage so Britt handled that. Guess she is on the mend now. I ran Britt to school then headed to work.

It was my bosses birthday so a group took him out to lunch at the Station. Fun and food lunches are the best. After work I ran errands and then went to town house to do touch up paint and pack some of the last stuff up like the computer and such. Sheldon met me there at 4:30 and we loaded it out in to car and booked it south at 5. The girls stayed in town for 4-H Xmas party, meeting and bit clinic. Kevin the audio guy spent the afternoon setting up the TV and will be back to do audio.

He received a call from his cousin saying they were stopping by for a tour and visit. They arrived around 6. It was a great visit. They brought us this lovely decoration.

They made the trek to Acadia Valley around 8:00. We installed the bedroom chandelier.

Carol dropped Britt off just before 9pm. Thanks Carol & Shannon. Shaina stayed in to meet some friends and was home at 11.

Day 224 - Big Rock Brewery Xmas party

Day 224 was a busy start to the day. Shaina drove Britt to school while I took Coco to the vets since they thought it best to see her and fit her in. I stopped quick at rental to grab cables for satellite then to work. I was not there long when Telus called at 10 to say they were there ready to hook up phone. I stopped and got Coco who was plagued with what they hoped was gastritis (inflammation of stomach lining) and ran to let him in.  While he was installing the line, Gienow showed up with the replacement screen which ended up the same size :-(

by 11 I was back at work and over my lunch hour I tried to update the blog from move in day. UGH painful as only can upload one photo then refresh each time. At 3:15 I met Kaylin and Sheldon at the ranch and it was off to Big Rock Brewery Xmas party

Kaylin was then kind enough to drive us to Costco for returns and shopping, Lululemon for her return and then Home Depot for returns. She drove us to the ranch getting us home by 10 pm. Once home I gave Coco her 2nd pill of the day. Soon after she vomited and we found the culprit of her illness..garbage! So after $110 in vet charges and pills we find that the hoover was into garbage and indeed gave herself a belly ache!

It was Hawaii 5-0 and then bed but sadly I did not fall asleep until after 3:15 only to be awoken by S's alarm at 6:15, boo!

Day 223 - rest and clean day

Day 223 I was awake at 7 to be sure B was getting ready for work. Sheldon drove her to town at 7:45, grabbed us Tims and crawled back in to bed for much needed sleep. I got up at 10:30, yes!! I lit a fire which burned all day long, heated up my Tims and called Mom. They had a faulty power pole send 220 V back into the house blowing up most electronics & appliances :-(

Cleaning, laundry, remove more of the taped down floor cardboard, washed floors and dry mopped walls was my days events.

Sheldon put my quad in the garage then took his to unload the old hay to the pit.

The bus driver stopped to see if he could actually get around in yard to pick up Britt and said yes, perfect, much better than riding quad to approach. Sheldon then ran to town to pick up Britt from work at 2.

Next project was to get he fallen tree off the fence, so they brought one load of branches to the house.

to save hauling in a ladder Britt became a human one in order to swap the fan to reverse direction. I cooked up supper and then did more unboxing, laundry ending it with a nice bath

but soon was joined by a friend wanting to see if indeed it was a two man and if the overflow vent worked!

then it was TV time but found we had some more issues due to not enough cables so no PVR.. finally got it going to watch our Sunday night TV. Coco had not been feeling well today so the girls are worried. will see what tomorrow brings and if still lethargic, call the vet.

Day 222 - Xmas party 2

Day 222 was another busy day at the ranch. I was up at 9 am on the phone for another hour with Telus yet again as no one showed up again! At quarter to 11 Britt and I headed to town where I dropped her at work. Soon after the snow started which continued thru the rest of the day and night. I stopped and did a bit of Christmas shopping buying my first 2 official gifts. I called Shaina from Tims where I picked us up hot teas and met her at the town house after her sleepover with Emily. I grabbed another small load form there and we then cruised back to the ranch.

Sheldon had found his way out of bed by now. I spent afternoon organizing and wiping down furniture. Shaina worked on her room with very slow progress. She was kind enough to do my hair for my Xmas party though.

neighbor horses stopping for evening visit after our Houdini horses opened the gate. At 5 we ventured out stopping at neighbor Matt's for a Xmas drink on the way to Cattle Barons in Calgary for my party. The roads did end up blustery in spots but we made it. Ten people did back out but 14 showed and lots of fun was had. Sheldon got us safely home by 3 am!

Day 221 - first bus ride & Xmas party red wine disaster

Day 221 was a lovely golden Friday off for Sheldon and I. However Sheldon did not turn off alarm so I was awake at 6 then B was up at 6:30 to get ready for first day on the bus! S took her to the approach at 7:30 which is pickup time! then we both went back to sleep. Awoke at 9 to the mountains just shining

I had my first shower in the main bath and was impressed, very large tub and shower head. Great choice we made there. I then spent an hour on the phone trying to get Telus yet again as the last night person said for sure it would be set up today but no show and this one says they will call back which they never did, in the afternoon I have to spend another 45 minutes again to hear another one say tomorrow. The first gave me a $25 credit for all the cell charges I will incur. The second one gave me $10 for the Internet they shut off when not supposed to. Cant move a phone but can shut off stuff .

I unboxed more and cleaned while Sheldon organized things then we both unloaded the horse trailer. He then parked it and hooked the dump trailer up so we could load the recycling up.

So much we could not get it all in the trailer and back of truck but we thought we best take what we could. It was horridly windy . But at 3 we made the slow drive there only stopping once to grab blowing box in the back.

After half hour of unloading by hand again we continued on to town grabbing more groceries then stopping at the town house to grab rugs and pans. We raced home trying to get to approach to pick B up from bus at 4:15 but were late and she had already walked to the house.

Time to unload and then get ready for Sheldon's Christmas party at the Station while enjoying a well deserved cold beverage. At just before 6 we picked up Darren and trekked into town. Let's just say the night was eventful for some, the picture below explains it all :-) An impact wrench was the evening gift exchange win which replaces one he broke while doing house building. I drove the fellows home at 1 am.

Day 220 - Plumbing in house FINISHED!!

Day 220 was a happy day, all the inside plumbing was finished during the day. Shaina drove the her and B to school today! Alright! Sheldon had a Dr appt so took me out for a late lunch to Original Joe's, delicious! Unfortunately though after trying to use his Visa debit cash card I saw that mine had an expiry date to which had past. I called the company only to learn that they do indeed expire and my $500 debit gift card was now void!! People, be sure to use them right away and not even let go a few months as they have a monthly fee charged too. So much for gift cards that actually use themselves up and can expire!

At the ranch, Dan installed last of the heat vents and Rick finished the indoor plumbing stuff! After work I picked up Tony's cash for tiling. I spent afternoon at the rental paying bills and such including an hour with Telus trying yet again to see why the phone is not moved. This no ranch internet is a pain. And then they say it cant be hooked up at the ranch until the 16th due to the high winds taking out the local towers. DARN.

Aaron came to the town house at 4:30 followed soon by Sheldon with the truck and trailer. They loaded up another load. I took a load home in the Buick at 5 and made supper.

The fellows came out with the load, unloaded it. Yanni stopped to help Shaina move furniture in her room and both he and Aaron stayed to enjoy my delicious chicken dinner. After supper Sheldon took A back to town and loaded another load himself since Tony offered but was a no show. We later learned he was waiting for Sheldon's call. I continued to unpack boxes and clean. Sheldon brought the trailer back out but was too tired to unload so left for tomorrow.
