Day 215 was a busy cleaning day. Up at 8:45 and out of the house after breakfast at 9:45, stopping at Tims and to pick up Shaina, back to house to grab lunch meat and out to the ranch by 10 ish. Time to get cleaning. Just after 10:30 Mom arrived to help :-)
using the new hide a hose for first time
the girls changed out a few CFL bulbs
the mountains were crisp today
Mom cleaned window sills
lunch time
then she used the vacuum
the stairs carpet installed yesterday in better light
basement carpet yet to be stretched and finished Monday
Shaina scrubbed their bathroom tub and installed the shower rod
Sheldon adjusted the light now that all hardware was removed :-)
Britt's closet started
floors before
Zoe finding some sun
Britt puts the hardware back on
Shaina trying to decide her closet configurations
then it was time for a break
Britt's closet finished
Us girls went out and wormed all the horses. What nice weather for November.
I "Bona'd" the office floor
Kaylin stopped out bringing Tims treats and drinks for all and gave Shaina a ride back to town at 3:30 pm
the bath chandelier
Mom cleaning cabinets
assembling the new pantry shelf
in a few steps
but complete
Britt bona'd the main floor
then it was chandelier installation time
requiring many hands
and a few swears, finally I had to take over and solve the issue giving S the tool passer job
and success
Mom could not reach the top of high cabinets so S tried no luck so I grabbed the swiffer and modified it with wet cloth with success here too
the dishwasher I forgot to photo yesterday
the pantry shelf in place
the fireplace door called to Sheldon to clean
so he and Mom shone it up
looking very clean and ready for the first fire. At about 6:30 we came back to town with the horse trailer. Sheldon dropped us off to make supper while he went and washed the trailer out ready for loading. Mom and Britt cut the last of the apples from our old tree and added Coreena's saskatoons making a delicious crisp which we enjoyed at 9:45. Visiting, blogging and hockey viewing were the evening activities. Mom headed to Amanda's around 10:15 to hit the sheets.

Day 214 - carpet is laid!
Day 214 - no school so Sheldon and I both took work off today so we can all (wait, just 3 of us, Shaina is going grad dress shopping with Shannon some time today) work at the ranch. At 9 we were up and finally out of the house after 10. First stop Tims then to Totem to pick up more closet organizers grabbing some sandwich meat & cheese at No Frills. Time to stock the fridge with lunch food and beverages. We arrived at the ranch at 11 where the carpet crew were busy putting down the carpet. Very different to see it en mass, not a small sample.
Dustin and Connor were busy
cutting the register holes open a bit more to fit the fancy covers we bought, and Connor assembled the vanity, they also caulked all the granite vanities and the tub
Britt spent most of the day sweeping, vacuuming and cleaning stickers off the windows
note the ever increasing mound of recyclables and trash in the background!
Sheldon graded the road, then came in where Dustin helped him reset the dishwasher to fit better dinging the floor in the process.. UGH I guess I am used to it now. The back insulation had to be cut off to make room to push in more. Dustin builds a super tight fit cabinet that is for sure, all the appliances will never move once in.
Sheldon then shocked the well with bleach
here he is cutting the closet shelf
here is the finished cabinet sans granite
the stair carpet guy hard at work
Rob popped out to help install the exterior stairs
here is a better day shot of the back ones
front stairs
Shaina and the girls stopped out on way home from dress shopping to check progress here inspecting her room
lifting stairs in place
and attaching
seems like the grade is to low up front, note the horses booking it in the background, 7 more soon follow. They love the free roaming of winter
here are 4 samples we found yesterday at Home depot and Julian tile
but here is the winner from Euro tile, note the colors are skewed in the photo
barbecue deck stairs go on and I missed big deck since I was cleaning
greetings and welcome
then I sealed the slate with first coat
still wet and bubbly
Rob throwing up a guard rail in garage
while Sheldon installed the last exterior coach light
finishing it up
and done, now to be painted.. this winter
Then it was on to closet organizer installation starting in Britt's room. Here she holds the mini shop vac while S drills pilot holes.
unfortunately the drill bit was too small so project was put on hold
so we went to install the granite only to find it did not fit, {also just found not only did stainer stain the entire left wall but tried taping the wee area down the right and pulled off the paint and the drywall paper too!! good grief. Should have picked the mobile home I think :-) }
so install the garage thermostat and change out 5 of the under counter lights that were yellow light rather than white. This was enough to wrap up the day.
At Six we came back to town where I made supper and TV became the relaxation choice for a couple. After supper I updated blog while the two watched the end of the movie but Sheldon fell asleep. At 8:15 I ventured to Totem to try and find this zip disc for closet installation and nickel fittings but no luck so tried Canadian tire with success.
