376 Extreme Trail Clinic

Day 376 was a crappy dreary day at 8:30 which looked threatening for rain and at 9 it opened up, by 11 is was slushy snow rain combo and persisted for the day until about 7 pm. This being after we had to load up 3 horses and head to Cloudwalker for the girls to partake in a 4-H sanctioned extreme trail clinic.

 KD does everything fast :-)

We arrived at 12:45 being only half the class, by 1:30 and 2, 2 others joined and at 4 it was done for the day.Shaina headed to the Roughnecks lacrosse game in Calgary to sell 50/50 tickets. Britt and I headed home in the storm at 5 and released the ponies into the crappy weather. Mom was here visiting with Sheldon who spent the day working on 2 more 4X4 boxes and the long sides of the 16X4 box.

 such a ham!

I quickly started a fire and then whipped up a scrumptious steel head trout meal for supper. This is the best fish ever hands down! It was then time to relax in front of the blazing fire. Just after the sun came out around 7:30, the Paetz family came out to join us around the fire for social night. They headed home at 10 and we soon followed heading to bed after such a day at 11. Shaina and Shannon arrived home from selling tickets at about 10:30.

375 May 4 Pepper colics

Day 375 was a gorgeous day. I awoke at 6:30 and the sunshine was spectacular. it was a golden Friday for work & school!! The sleepover girls were up and off by 7:45 am. Britt noticed Pepper in distress at 8:15 as i was planning to take her to town for badminton zones. I got Sheldon up to take her and I went out and walked him while I called the vet. Soon he was out and assessed he indeed had an impaction colic in his left hind quarter. He was sedated and given pain killer then tubed receiving mineral oil, electrolytes, anti gas and water mixture. He was punch drunk after that but came out of it well and back to eating in an hour.

Sheldon brought teas home in time to watch the end of Pepper's vet visit with Shaina and I then he got started on the cedar raised planters.

At noon a hardwood inspector arrived to assess our floor. lets see what he says! I continued with laundry and sorting
Sheldon worked on planters while I swept and organized the garage. Shaina harrowed the pastures letting the horses mix so we spent half hour separating. She was off to work at 1. Britt was done badminton and came in 3rd for zones by 1:45. Sheldon ran in to get her and more supplies.

I started trimming Julio at around 2:45 and after 1 1/2 hours got his feet fine tuned. Britt and Sheldon made it home and B helped shed him out for his spa day, then took him for a ride while I worked on Bird's feet. Matt brought the skid steer back along with 3 of the jumbo soil bags in exchange for using the Volvo. What a great neighbor!

Sheldon and Britt set up the trampoline while I harrowed winter pasture then Britt took over while I created a scrumptious steak supper. After supper Sheldon worked on another planter.

374 May 3 Britt hosts a party

Day 374 was dreary over cast day. I dropped B at school and off to work for me in the truck. The Enclave was done early so i picked it up at noon and left Sheldon truck there for him to pickup after work. I did errands to bank and groceries and picked up some new jeans to replace the ones Sheldon got me for birthday. I actually came home with 3 pairs but will take one back. It was then stops at HH and CT to check out plants. How exciting. CT has lots of trees and shrubs and I found 5 of my spirea.. still need 12 more of just that variety!

At 2:30 I grabbed a tea and a egg wrap and off to the ranch. At home I did usual cleaning unpacking blogging etc. whenever a free minute, it is always busy with things to and I foresee that for some time.

Sheldon picked up his truck and picked up Britt from badminton. He brought her home and she cleaned in preparation for a wee party. He ran over the grass seed pooled ditches with harrows in hopes of dispersing but not much luck.

Diego did not care for the boys!

Brooke, Hannah, Amber, Grady, Josh and Jaedan came over for movie night. All the girls slept over and it was along giggly night!

Shaina worked after school till nine and came home early. WTH (heck) After the hockey games ended Sheldon and I watched Hall Pass.

373 May 2 - more rain

Day 373 started and spent most of the day raining.. yes we have plenty. From dry to monsoon! The girls headed off to school with me following close behind dropping my car at the shop to fix the leak. They called with bad news saying they needed it till tomorrow around 4:30! Sharon , Coreena and I were fortunate to receive a gift card for the station for Administrative week so we went for lunch today. Sharon gave me a ride home after lunch.

At home it was sort papers.. what a chore but I did find the receipt for the island lights we are still debating. I LOVE these ones but think the blue may not be right with the island , you need the clean backdrop for the pop of color.

so like the neutral classic look of these ones. And I do want a single drum light for dining room but cant find it either!

Dan the HVAC guy stopped, but not without me holding Diego the whole time as he is very scared of him. He measured up for an air conditioner but it is not looking good, a big hole under the deck or have it right by the stairs.. NOT! By now the rain had let up but remained dreary.

Shaina worked after school till 9 then stayed in to hang out with Jenna till 11:45. Britt had badminton after school which gave Sheldon opportunity to hit the dump (making 4 stops retrieving lost garbage bags) and the recycling depot. They got home just before 6. Again Britt hid out in the basement for the most part but did feed the 2 skinnies. Sheldon enjoyed the hockey game while we decided on the rock for garage, deck pillars and garage front. I spent lots of time finalizing our landscape plans after a new one was sent for next week finish up. It makes me giddy to think of trees and flowers and even gardening!! Now if only the rain will stop and come again after we get lots planted. :-)

372 May 1 - and it rained!!!!

Day 372 was a soggy day, places like Calgary had 5" overnight and Coreena had 1 1/2" but we still have no rain gauge but it was allot. Britt and I beetled off to work and school while Shaina was late after getting stuck in our own yard.
The rain continued till mid afternoon. I left work and headed to the library only to find a leak in my car!! WTH so off to SMP I went. Looks like they will need to do a thorough check tomorrow morning. It was then to Totem to try and find planter rock.

getting better, either of these perhaps in either color.. opinions???

An hour stop at the grocery store, stop at the mail (all in the rain) and off home by 2:00. Unloading them took awhile too. I started a fire and updated the blogs for last 5 days.

The girls stayed in after school for 4-H meeting as well as a Eastern Canada for Britt. They hung out and cleaned Kaylin's house for her before. The box lady came out and collected her 5th load?, seems we have shared moving boxes with many families now and we still have boxes to go!

Sheldon worked late not getting home till 7:15. He brought Glen along to feed and water after a long day of troubleshooting.

Shaina arrived home just after 8 and Sharon dropped Britt off around 8:30. I spent the night unpacking precious moments and willow tree figurines. I clearly have enough of them too, I am so blessed :-) Sheldon searched for house bills and recorded GST
