Day 259-263 work/school week

Day 259 was back to work and school for the Kuhn Klan. reality stinks some days :-) Kaylin began her new nanny job for Asher. Finally back at work, I had Amanda color and trim my hair, YES! and after school Britt got hers trimmed too. She and I then ran errands getting keys cut, stop at tile store and groceries. Shaina worked after school til 9:30.

after work Sheldon harrowed the horse pens since it was a warm PLUS 13 day. The day was fabulous but snow and cold is forecasted to hit tonight. Sure enough just before midnight Sheldon got called to work and when he got home at 3 am the snow had hit!

Day 260 was COLD!! like a 30 degree change. Go figure, this weather is nutty. The snowing and blowing happened most of the day but the sun did pop out at 2 although it was still freezing. This cold is forecast to stick around now with a few above zero possible days. Sheldon slept in a bit and headed off to work when we did grabbing teas for the work ladies and shuttling me from the dealers where my car was to have software update. back at work, his day was busy and got worse making him not get home from the long day until 7:30 and then he had to go back to work on stuff at 11 pm!! Kaylin brought her car out at 8:30 where he and Aaron fixed the heater cord. I had made pizzelles which did not last long! Shaina had a hockey friend out after school , drove her and Britt to 4-h after supper and then spent the rest of the evening studying for English test in the morning. I caught up on more PVR TV shows while Sheldon caught a quick nap before heading back to work. I think he was back home at 1 am.

Day 261 was still cold. Sheldon was off to work early and called mid afternoon saying he felt like a hand blender was in his head, just a bit sleep deprived I would say..LOL. Said he will sleep well tonight. Shaina wrote her first grade 12 diploma exam today for English then worked after school till 6:30. She picked up Britt from Shelby's on way home. Then it was back to studying for her.

Day 262 was yet another day of work and school, both for Shaina who worked from 5-9:30. Home from work, Sheldon found himself needing a nap by the blazing fire I create every day after work. He was still trying to adjust from the crazy work hours of late. I am finally catching up on reading all the blogs I follow. :-) Let's say there is lots of inspiration just need the motivation. I also tried out my new Norwex stainless steel polish cloth, I give it a two thumbs up.  Kaylin arrived late in the night after her shift at work.

Day 263 - Friday the 13th, found the temps back above zero but only by 3 or 4. Kaylin enjoyed a lazy day with Coco but headed to town around 3 for her shift at 4pm. She will be staying the night again while Sheldon and I head to Red deer for our good friend Yvonne's 50th surprise birthday party! Britt is going for a sleepover at Amber's and Shaina to Emily's after her work shift of 3:30-9. She and Emily are going boarding in the mountains tomorrow. The week has found us plunking away at laundry and moving a few things around. A lady came out today and I loaded her up with more boxes. The girls sold their CD players on the facebook garage site which has been a great place for them to move some stuff since they have quite a bit.. Another lady on the site offered us a free beer fridge which we will pick up Sunday! and yet another a web cam, just a bit late though for the intended plan to chat with Kaylin in Vancouver :-)

Yesterday At work I made the mistake of looking online for dogs needing homes, now how can I say no to this guy. :-) Marty may be coming to Fivestar Ranch too.
 
After Sheldon got home from work at 5, we headed off to Red Deer to enjoy a night of friends and fun.

Day 257/258 - w/e of travel

Day 257 had everyone going different directions, Kaylin went boarding in the mountains, Shaina worked and then went to Calgary in the evening for supper, Brittany worked but not until 7 so at 1 we dropped her off at Stouts who were kind enough to take her to work, Thanks Sharon!! We continued on to Medicine Hat for supper and final farm meeting. Grama had a delicious meal and it was nice to visit with all that were there. We left at 8 pm picking Britt up at 10:10. Once back home, we watched Bridesmaids while Shaina and a friend hung out.

Day 258 was overcast dreary yet warm day. I was up at 8:30 as was Shaina who was off to polox practice in Millarville again. I ran Britt to town for work at 9:15 and grabbed teas for sleeping beauty and I. It was then time to get stuff done, lots of accounting, uploading, cleaning and yet more unpacking were my days work while Sheldon spent some time outside (not sure doing what though LOL) then headed to town to get Britt from work at 3;30 and grab groceries.

Soon after Shaina arrived home and the girls caught horses to ride including one for me. What a nice day for a quick ride while they tossed around the ball. Sheldon napped by the fire. Last night before back to work and school :-)

Day 256 - Stout/ Kuhn family game night

Day 256 was a golden Friday giving us a chance to get stuff done around the house but in the end most of the day was spent on the road or in a mall. We took off for Airdrie at 10:30, stopping in town on way to get tims for all, then continuing on to make our horse trailer appointment time at noon. A quick drop of there and it was off to Cross Iron mall to do returns and the girls shopped. At 2:30 it was back to the shop, pickup and pay for the trailer and back to the ranch at 3:40 where Shaina had to scurry to get to town to work at 4.

 when out in the big pasture we always have lots of front step visitors and of course some window peepers!

At 7:30 the troops arrived, Sharon, Darren, Shelby and Chanel closely followed by Amanda and Asher. Kaylin and Aaron arrived just before 9, Whitney next and Shaina was home form work at 9:30, Even Krista showed soon after making it a full family fun night!! What a wonderful get together that happens far to rarely these days with everyone working and going to school!

Day 255 - Canada wins bronze! Sweden Gold!

Day 255 - was a short work day as Sheldon and I headed to Calgary to take in the World Junior bronze game at 1:30,Britt & Brooke moved horses and hung out. Shaina was at a sleepover where she found her car vandalized with eggs and the gas tank cap off and fuller.. not sure what they added :-( As we were heading to the city, Rick showed up to install the sink in the garage, finally!

We arrived at the dome at 1pm where Canada won bronze beating Finland 4-0!

then we walked for miles trying to find space at a pub to eat with no luck so walked to car and drove to Kan Ham for delicious meal and then back to saddle dome for gold game. What a fantastic game it was between Sweden and Russia. it went into overtime with Sweden finally getting one in making it 1-0!!

Day 254 - New polox horse for Britt

Day 254 was a super warm plus 14 day but as it progressed it got windy!! It was a very exciting day for Britt as we planned to go meet a 9 year old mare who played high goal polo recently in Florida. So at 10:30 we headed off to Okotoks to meet Miss Nightbird. On the way out the gate we met Rick the plumber who stopped to do a few little things to finish up.

 but just before the turn in we heard a noise and found this.. so a wee delay until I managed to unscrew the last screw holding up the heavy metal sheet and put in the trailer

 but once we arrived it was all smiles

 so it was a new 2012 team for Britt and Nightbird

Grama and Papa returned from shopping and Sheldon home from work to enjoy nice supper and visit before they took off to Medicine Hat pushed by the gale force winds. Britt had Brook out for sleepover while Shaina strayed in town for a sleepover after work.

Day 253 - Back to work :-(

Day 253 had me totally wishing it was not back to work week :-) But reality is at my job there may be a long break up this spring so best get to work. Off I went, Shaina got up late, Shannon went home and Shaina headed to work both jobs today. Britt got out and cleaned up broken glass the horses had made from my old windows ..GRRRR

I worked till 1 then ran errands such as getting gas which is back up to 107.9, booo then came home. Britt made me a yummy grilled cheese and I did computer work and more putting away of Christmas and presents.

this is a sweet little angel Kaylin gave me for Christmas, may she bless you with a fantastic year in 2012.

After Sheldon got home from work, we all grabbed a bite to eat and he and I were off to Calgary for the semi finals at World Juniors, this will be the first time we see Canada play!!! Pat & Carl were at the Sweden Vs Finland game semi finals at 3 we had given them tickets for and what a game , it was a real upset

the game however went a bit downhill for first 2 periods being 6-1 for Russians but I would not give up hope and int he 3rd they came back with avengence.. and nearly won it!! end score 6-5 Russia :-( but it was better to lose close than a blow out.
