Day 71 - bales, shingles and showings

Day 71 found shingles starting to be put on. In town we had two showings, both who were very interested, one even brought her entire family of 8 back on Wednesday to look again, fingers crossed!
the weather is smoking so custom balers managed to get 160 large rounds rolled up.

Rob started putting up beams for the covered deck and installed all pocket door hardware.

Sheldon and I met with the electrician and the audio/media system fellows to layout the zones.

Day 70 - varied things

Day 70 found the supervisor for shingles celebrating the birth of a baby so delayed until tomorrow. Rob finished the deck on south and west. Now waiting on the covered deck trusses and Jeff the basement guy to dig in a pile he forgot for the barbeque deck on the north end.

The custom balers raked the swaths - hope to bale tomorrow
Sheldon and I headed to the city for appts and picked up the ensuite tub and this cute vanity for the half bath.
Kaylin and Aaron helped to rake gravel in basement but Kaylin gave up claiming it was a "blue" job (for boys)! so a few other strong fellows came to the rescue to help Sheldon who was told not to rake after he put a few ribs out installing the header.

Day 69 - fun day

Day 69 had everyone taking a day off. The 4-H Exchange had a wave pool day so Sheldon chaperoned from the hot tub and steam room while Sharon and I did a little retail therapy. After a quick supper I took the girls out for a trail ride while Sheldon took out a moldy bale from the feeder, watered trees and gave a house tour. Sno-joes and a movie rounded out the night ending a great long weekend.

Day 68 - hay all cut day!

Bright and early in the sunshine Day 68 saw the last of the hay come down.

(Terri, Sheldon has a couple new farm  implements to keep him busy and happy! ;-))
we scored a John Deere zero radius from our good friend grant. Sheldon titled this shot "father and son" Kaylin named the little one Hector.

Later in the day Sheldon managed to clean and fill horse water tanks, dig to the foundation and install water to garage (pictured above) and have the unpleasant job of porta-potty disposal and refill while Britt and I along with Sharon and Shelby headed to the airport to pickup the girls Quebec 4-H twins. After another hard day, a campfire at Caresland was in order.

Day 66 - fixes and deck plus shingles arrive

Day 66 found framing finishes such as take out this wall and change this door
and shingles arrived for work next week, Sheldon used another vacation day and got his hay machine together
then we headed to the city for more chiro and assorted treatments for his compressed nerve and yet another kitchen review. while there I managed to find a few lights, tile and a vanity for girls basement bathroom, we picked up more power cable and I finally ordered all GE Profile kitchen appliances thru our local store.

yes this is the back seat "tetris-ed" with my scores, and the vanity in the back and S's new posture roll :-0

sorry Kaylin no room! Thanks goodness your sister got you from the airport!
Rob started on south deck
here is a twilight shot of shingles on roof
we dumped the gravel so Craig and Amanda could borrow trailer for their roofing project but not before picking up new set of basement stairs and bringing back to house site. another busy day at Five Star ranch

Day 65 - roof is finished and header arrives

On day 65 the roof was finished being sheeted

the south end of the house is all that is left for framing.. the covered deck then windows in
but the highlight of the day for some was the arrival of the macdon hay header~
